Soul Companion (Ian Maksin)

Familiar to audiences in Europe and the USA from his solo projects and multi-genre collaborations, cellist Ian Maksin is coming out with a new album of his original music for solo cello inspired by folk music from around the world as well as by music of Sting. The album also includes several works Maksin has commissioned from award-winning composers Paul Yeon, Ilya Levinson and Seth Boustead.
Blending together classical, jazz and world music, Ian Maksin's has created his own unique style which has gained him international recognition. He has shared the stage with musicians of many different genres including Andrea Bocelli, Smokey Robinson, Barry Gibb, Mstislav Rostropovich and has opened for such artists as Sting and his guitarist Dominic Miller.
