DOLBY ATMOS SURROUND SOUND at BLUE GRIFFIN
Blue Griffin's The Ballroom is now a full Dolby Atmos recording/mixing studio equipped with superb quality Merging Technologies gear (two Merging Hapi units and Anubis) and 7.1.2 surround sound monitors (Kali and Genelec). Take a virtual tour in the video below. (Soundtrack is David Biedenbender’s Solstice: IV. Spring with Garth Newel Piano Quartet – the first Blue Griffin album released in Dolby Atmos)
STUDIO and LOCATION RECORDING
Blue Griffin's Sergei Kvitko has traveled for recording sessions to Baltimore, Chicago, Chautauqua, New York City, Boston, Nashville, Toronto and to locations in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Alabama, California, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Florida, North Carolina, Texas and many other states, as well as all over his home state of Michigan. International productions included travels to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Austria.
Most of our sessions, however, are happening in The Ballroom - an incredible studio like you have never seen before. The largest single room in residential Lansing that comfortably seats a hundred people for a private recital, with a feel of a concert hall that can be transformed to sound close and intimate. The glorious Concert Grand Steinway is proudly seated on a stage and can fill up the room with its gorgeous sound, but it can also be transformed for a more subtle and personal sonority.
In the last few years The Ballroom has become a premier location for classical recordings, with internationally renowned artists flying in to Lansing, Michigan from California, Iowa, Florida, Utah, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, New York, as well as Canada, Taiwan, Russia, South Africa, France, Argentina, Japan, and South Korea.
PRODUCTIONS FOR OTHER LABELS
Besides the multitude of CDs on our own label, many CDs produced, edited or mastered at Blue Griffin have been released on other international labels, such as Steinway and Sons, Naxos, Toccata Classics (UK), Fleur De Son, DUX (Poland), Crystal Records, Albany Records, Scene-a-Music (Japan), TNC Recordings, Bridge, Centaur and others
