RED (ELYSIAN QUARTET)
The Elysian Quartet was founded in 2017 by graduate students at the University of Oklahoma. They won first prize in both the 2018 North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Quartet Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Music Competition and were selected as quarter-finalists in the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

Elysian Quartet makes their recording debut with Red on Blue Griffin Records. The title track, “Red” by Marc Mellits, is comprised of six short movements, each relating to each other, much like a baroque suite. There is no movement in the work where one instrument could survive without the other.
