Music of Damase, Reinecke and Rose (The Mirabelle Trio)

The trio of oboe, horn and piano is one of the most unique and complimentary of mixtures. The oboe’s vibrant and penetrating treble sound finds a very complimentary companion in the horn’s mellow warmth. These instruments, supported by the piano’s versatility and range, create an almost orchestral depth, full of color and texture. The three works recorded for this CD offer a variety of stylistic approaches for this ensemble, exploiting and capitalizing on each instrument’s strength. Jared Hauser, Leslie Norton and Melissa Rose are on the faculty of Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
