Amidst the unprecedented moment of confinement that we are all living in, Latin Grammy-nominated classical composer Ricardo Lorenz releases a new album of chamber works that celebrates fellowship, openness, and a mosaic-like view of the world.

Titled Open Borders after Lorenz’s unaccompanied cello work, his new CD contains eight chamber works representing a creative period spanning thirty years, from 1989 to 2019, in stunning performances by internationally renowned artists like violinist Andrés Cárdenes, horn player Corbin Wagner, pianist Deborah Moriarty, soprano Jacquelyn Wagner, conductor Raphael Jiménez, the late harpist Deborah Hoffman as well as a younger generation of extraordinary performers from six different countries.

This collection of chamber works displays Ricardo Lorenz’s inimitable sound world governed by confounding rhythms and inhabited by rich textures shaped by brilliant formal landscapes, at times foreboding and at other times whimsical, never straying too far from the composer’s Latin American roots.
