The threading of music of many cultures and peoples by composer David Amram, inspired flutist, Karen McLaughlin Large to create Wanderlust. David Amram, a film composer (The Manchurian Candidate), classical horn player and Master of Jazz improvisation composed a wealth of flute music between 1959 and 2002 – most of which has never been recorded. As well has his classical and jazz background, David Amram was composer-in-residence with the New York Philharmonic, plays over twenty-five instruments from around the world, is a classical conductor and has shared the performance stage with country and rock stars.
