VIEWPOINTS (Folias Flute and Guitar Duo)
“Viewpoints” is Folias Flute and Guitar Duo’sfifth album and marks just over a decade of playing and composing together. Violinist/violist Christopher Martin joins the duo for three compositions on this album.
The music on this recording is inspired by several musical and literary inspirations (Border Trilogy), travels from snowed in Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Spring Snow) to the country of Guinea in West Africa (Mamba Guinée), as well as Latin rhythms, Argentinian tango, piquant blue cheese, “Razumovsky” string quartets of Beethoven, and even a “what would happen if Bach ate a habanero pepper?” piece (Scotch Bonnet)
