Dialogue (The Cavell Trio)

Founded in 2007, the Cavell Trio is a chamber ensemble comprised of faculty from the University of Alabama School of Music. Since their formation, Cavell has been a leader in reed trio performance, bringing an increased awareness of the myriad possibilities of this chamber genre.
The trio has performed at many national and international conferences and is also firmly committed to education and spreading the educational potential of chamber ensembles for young students. The trio regularly performs recitals for young musicians in public schools throughout Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia and encourages their participation in the performances.
In 2012, the trio released their first album, The Art of Collective Invention (Blue Griffin BGR 247). Reviews were extremely positive, including Ryan Romine from the IDRS Journal: “For fans of reed trio music…this ensemble is one to watch. Their playing on this first album is already at an exceptionally high level, which makes it all the more exciting to hear what they will bring to future recordings.”
This new CD contains music by Maros, Tansman, Zaheri, Lutosławski, Schickele, Loucheur, Chaudoir and Schulhoff
