Inspired by Chinese folk tunes from childhood memories, this debut recording from violinist Fangye Sun features both traditional and contemporary works. The variety and beauty of these folk tunes sketch the history, regions, landmarks, as well as the unique culture f the minority ethnic groups of China. Communicated through the musical languages of renowned Chinese composers, Fangye Sun presents a kaleidoscopic view of the heritage of these traditional Chinese folk tunes and their evolution through 20th and 21st century musical literature.
